Water leaks

I'm a new owner and found a line leaking last night. When looking at the hot water heater there is a water line running from underneath the body, up into the shell of the trailer. It looks like it could be going into the hot water heater, or the bathroom (I have a 31' center bath). I was hoping someone could tell me what this line supplies before I take out the hot water heater, or paneling in the bathroom to try figuring it out. Thanks!

Are you sure that this is not the propane gas line and water is leaking on the inside of the shell and down this line?

I'm going to need to check that out - I guess it could be. It's about a 1 ft. piece of rubber line that is connected to another line with what appears to be a shut-off mechanism. Would the propane line have a shut off valve underneath the hotwater heater, underneath the shell?

My '77 Excella 500 has a rear bath with water heater on the roadside next to the toilet. Underneath the water heater on the outside of the trailer is a hard line with shutoff valve. That line is a gas shutoff. If yours is rubber, could it be there to protect the metal line or could someone have repaired a broken line with rubber hose? What do you think guys?
