Have just filled my tank with the disinfecting solution prescribed by Airstream and now have a drip from the drain.
I removed the inspection cover and confirmed the drain plug is leaking and my first question is does anyone know the size of the hex wrench required to fit the drain plug?
I followed the Airstream procedure which is 1/4 cup of bleach per gallon of water and use 1 gallon of this solution for each 15 gallon of tank capactity. Wouldn't have thought a 5-6% bleach solution would disturb the seal to cause a leak. No problems before but the tank had been sitting empty for a while. Is it possible that is detremental and could result in a leak if sitting around in 90deg plus temperature, although we haven't had that many of those days this year yet.
I would be interested in any insight available.
thanks

Good pictures and thanks for the info. Have you had the 92 from new?
Hard to believe that the potable water has that kind of effect!
My petcock turns ok and does not apear to be leaking anywhere. My problem is with the drain plug. Of course it is pretty tough to get a good look on the driveway and was just wanting to tighten.
Who knows maybe I would have got drenched. I think I will drain it before doing anything!
thanks again

John
Not there yet with plumbing in Metric but will keep the ISO standard book handy because I am sure it is coming!
Draining it now and I will check it tomorrow and get a 1 1/2" pipe plug if required. Of course if it doesn't fall out I might need a wrench as I can only muster a 5/8" and that might somewhat challenging here on a Sunday
thanks
