Water Inlet Tube

2007 Airstream Continental 25.
The water inlet pipe will not undo, it simply spins around, its a sort of four cornered plastic thing. Am I missing something? Is there a knack? I have only connected it once as the Airstream has been static for some years and the first time I try to undo it, like I said it turns but dose'nt get free or undo.
Help appreciated.

Got a picture? Trying to visualize exactly what you're asking about.

You have to hold the hose from rotating when you rotate the square plastic thing, which is actually the nut to tighten the hose to the trailer interface.

If this is IT, hold the inner and turn the outer.

Thats great thank you worked first time the thing that threw me was that the plastic thing with the four corners was spinning on the coupling.
The problem now is that the coupling is leaking badly from the back, thats the coupling attached to the Airstream and the one that turns. I assume this is a fairly regular and common problem but don't know how to move forward b ut need to do something as at present its useless. Any ideas please.

Replace the rubber hose washer. Or put in one, if it is missing. The seal does not occur on the back side of the four corner tightening nut. There can not be a leak at that point. The seal occurs between the end of the male hose connector and the front surface of the inlet pipe going into the trailer.

WT,

As mentioned above...make sure the gasket is good.

Then reverse the process, hold the inner and tighten the outer, it won't seat properly if you don't hold it gud.
