Water inlet leaking

Need some advice. I have a 2014 19’ FC and my water inlet is leaking on the inside. I’m not sure where but I’m just going to replace it. Looking on line I see that shufflo makes 2 models of the inlet . 1 has the pressure regulator built in,used by AS and well known to leak. The other is just a connection without the built in regulator. Is there any reason why I can’t use the inlet that does not have the regulator and then just use my own regulator on the water hose at the spigot?

I have a similar issue. When connected to "city" water with the usual straight inline connection, I was getting a small leak inside the compartment. It would mostly drip outside from somewhere near the wheel well. I switched to a right angle connector which put less strain on the connection and the leak stopped. There are threads here about how to tighten the fittings on the inside of the water inlet.
