Water Dripping from Fresh Water Inlet

I have a 2003 34' Classic S/O. My water pump ran in the middle of the night. Looked and found that there was water dripping from the City Water Inlet. I pulled the Inlet out thinking the check valve was right at the inlet. Not. It had been sitting for a while with the pump off and no water came out when I pulled the Inlet and pressure reducer off . I guess the check valve is way back inside somewhere. Anyone know how to get to the fresh water check valve on a 2003 34' Classic S/O? I'm getting ready to test my theory of what's really leaking in a minute, by turning on the pump to see what happens with the City Water Inlet uninstalled. Any help would be appreciated. Maybe I should just let it drip and turn off the pump every time I use it? Does the water pressure regulator work as a check valve? DH

Yes....the pump acts as a check valve to keep the water tank from filling..

I took off the Inlet/water pressure regulator, turned on the pump and it was just like running the hose out the side of the trailer. DH

It's probably cracked or fouled inside. They're not that expensive. Replace.

Yes the water pressure regulator works as a check valve. You already did 1/2 the work and will have to do the rest anyway, replace it.

Get a repair kit for the shur-flo pump. About 8$ on E-bay. Easy to install and you old pump is good as new. That is so long as the pump still works. Get a couple while you're at it and keep them handy.

The "City Water" inlet that AS specs has a 1 way valve and pressure regulator inside, these are easily frozen during low temps and will have a small leak usually inside the AS, you are lucky it leaks outside.
Only fix is to replace-Shurflo 183-029-14 on many different websites and Camping World.
