Sureflow is wheezing and sputtering

Hello. A year ago I replaced my old pump with a new Sureflow. I also replaced tubing, old rubber stuff, with some flex and other parts with pvc. All seemed well. We were gone all winter, but the water pump compartment was kept warm with a hater designed to come on if the temp. dropped below freezing. This year I came back to no sign of freezing, but the pump wheezes and gurgles and sounds like it is missing a beat here and there. We don't use it much as we are hooked to the well pump almost all the time, but this fall I started wondering just what the matter was.

I thought at first that I had not successfully gotten all the air out of the system, but after draining it and blowing it out and then refilling, I still get the same sounds. Any suggestions? The trailer is a '79 Sovereign, not that that should make a difference, but there may be some pipes under the floor in that model that are causing the problem?

Joan.

Check the tightness of the clamp on the input hose to the pump. If it's not tight, the pump will suck air, instead of the water.

If it is not the clamp remove the plumbing from the input side of the pump and replace it with a couple of feet of hose. Stick the hose in a gallon of water and turn the pump on. If that works your probem is air but further down the line towards the tank.

The compartment may have been kept warm but the line down through the floor to the tank could have frozen and split.
