Shower Pressure

I have an '03 Int'l CCD 22'. Not much pressure in the shower mode in the wet bath. Kitchen and toilet pressures are OK. How do I increas the pressure at the bath sink/shower fixture?

Hi, Skinner and welcome to the Forums! I'm sure you'll get some good advice... the first thing I'd check would be to take the shower head off and make sure it doesn't have any 'stuff' in it. Sometimes flashing from plastic, or small pebbles from the water supply make their way into the fixtures. I've cleaned lots of small rocks and other bits of 'stuff' out of faucet screens over the years. You'd be surprised to find out how little 'stuff' it takes to reduce the water flow.

If this is your first RV with a shower head, it is common to not realize that the button on the side must be pressed all the way into the on position.

I think every one does this when they are rookies, ( I did ). I have seen this several times.

You may have some debris in there but I bet that the button is somewhat pressed in the middle position.

We had this same issue in our 2003 Bambi. There was clearly a hardware problem with it. I never got too far into it since we upgraded to a 2004 Safari. It didn't have the problem.

We were also not satisfied with the shower pressure in our 02 Bambi - we too took it apart to check for debris but found none. I assumed there was a built in pressure reducer that was engineered more for city water pressure than the lower pressure of an RV water pump. I replaced the shower head with an Oxygenics unit from Camper World ( http://www.campingworld.com/browse/s...28026&src=SRQB ) - this made all the difference in the world - the shower head lives up to its advertised expectations. There is no shut-off on the Oxygenics head but the faucet shut-off in the shower is so easy to use that this has not been a problem.

I put the original unit in our house shower - and it works great.

Thanks, I know the button is depressed, so that's not the problem. I'll look for debris, but it seems the pressure is too low to keep the shower button on the "shower" setting. Any other advice would be great. I'll check out the Oxygenics unit.

We used this simple fix for the shower head in our 2002 22' CCD per a suggestion from Pahaska (search this forum for his posts). We removed the perforated section of the shower nozzle and used a drop of Gorrilla Glue (from the inside) on every third hole, then reassembled the whole thing after the glue had dried. This, in effect, increases the water pressure and results in a strong spray when hooked up to shore water or when using the water pump. Simple and easy, and it works! Ya gotta like that.
