Well. Last fall when preparing our trailer for winter I broke off the fresh water tank drain handle. Old plastic, cooler day and SNAP. Oh well I guess it was time. So awhile back I ordered a new valve from Out of doors mart and got an extra one to have on hand. I had planned to take it with us and change it later on while on the road down in Florida but decided to do it today since we were having such nice weather. Boy am I glad I did. What a bear to replace that stupid little valve. I removed the cover to gain access to the clamps and barb fittings. Of course very tight quarters for my large hands but I got everything loose and had to slit the hose to get it off. New hose, new valve and got it all replaced and put back together. Glad I did it at home where I had access to air tools ( to remove the tire ) and hand tools for the rest of the job. Would have been a mess to do while on the road. But it will be easier the next time.
I wonder if there is a better way to install a tank drain. I would certainly consider re-doing it if I can figure out what would work.
Thanks all, this website is the best.
Merry Christmas to all and Happy New Year.
See ya on the road sometime.
