Recommendations For Water Tank Size, Help!
We're continuing the renovation of our '63 Overlander and are at the point where we need to decide the size of our fresh water tank. We took some measurements today that would give us about a 40 gallon (320 lbs.) or about a 60 gallon tank (520 lbs.), all approximate numbers there. For you experienced travelers, which would be a better choice. We do plan on boondocking a lot, we'll have a complete solar system and a composting toilet. I want the 60 gallon but my girlfriend is concerned about that being too much weight. The talk will be right above the axle/wheels, it's a double axle trailer, and we do have electric brakes. Any help, pros/cons are appreciated, thanks!

I wonder... will you ever complain about having too much water? Probably not! Regrets will only come when water runs out. Besides, you do not have to travel with it full. I would consider fitting the largest tank that's practical. I hope to see you on the road around the Buckeye state someday
Best wishes,
Steve

The biggest one you can stand. I usually run out of grey storage before black. I have 60 gallon of fresh, 38 greay and 38 black. it needs to be 24 black and 50 grey.

I configured my 59 overlander with a 50 gallon gray tank over the axels on one side, a 50 gallon over the other side. Up front I have a 50 gallon fresh tank. Under the kitchenette I have a 35 gallon fresh. Trailer travels better with the front tank full. I have a marine head and use water to flush. If your TV can handle it I would go with more fresh water. Since you don't need a black tank you have some extra space for fresh. All my tanks are above floor marine tanks. I use macerator pumps to empty the two waste tanks and a shower pump to move water from the shower to the gray tank.
Watch her at the sink. If she tends to run the water while doing dishes, brushing teeth, ect you will want more water for greater harmony..
Did you replace the wheel hubs???????
