Pulsating water pressure,2008 Safari

Sometimes the water pressure is smooth as a babys butt, but after I move and set up the water pulsates .
Usually it clears up in time,an hour of operation, but this time it is not.
What could be the problem? Is this something I could fix myself?
Might it be a bad pump?

In my 2004 Safari the water pulsates a little bit and the pump makes a vroom vroom cadence at low to moderate flows. This seems to be the nature of the water system. If the sound is sufficiently annoying, you can install an accumulator tank which will force the pump to cycle on and off more regularly.

Not sure what you are saying.

Low flow, faucet not complete turned on, can cause the pump to Short Cycle, coming on and off frequently. This will change to flow rate at the faucet as the pump cycles.

If this is the case installing a small expansion tank with a diaphragm will extend the cycle rate and even out the flow. This will show you what I mean.

Try bleeding the air out of all of the water supply lines (cold & hot), including the shower. It can take several minutes, so unless I'm on a full hook-up, I live with it. I thought the pump was bad, too.

I don't think he's referring to the normal cycling of the pump.....

Sounds like air in the line, be certain to fill the water heater and bled the air before turning it on.

Neither air in the lines or a partially filled hot waster tank would have the effect of pulsating the flow rate. Pressure in a liquid system is equal in through the system only effected by height and then only at a rate of about 1/2 per foot. Not a question here.

Please advise if the pump is cycling a the same rate as the pulsation.

If the pulsation is faster then the pump cycle rate look for an air leak on the suction line coming from the tank to the pump.

We have experience the same thing when the fresh water tank is low (almost out of water), which puts air bubbles in the line. I agree with the others and think you should purge the lines, before you do anything else. That may fix the problem; and it's free...

Make sure the fresh water tank is full, then run the water at the furthest outlet from the pump. That'll usually clear the air from the lines. If you fresh water tanks isn't almost full when towing, turn off the pump.
