Plumbing leak question...

Found this leak while flushing the fresh water system today. Noticed water dripping outside in front and behind the streetside axles. Traced it to the bathroom plumbing under sink.

This was never assembled correctly, you can see where the plastic connector has separated. The brass fitting is a one way valve and you can see the shut-off below it. I was able to get the brass valve off, and then turned the assembly 180 degrees, with better access I thought I'd try putting it all back together.

Well that fixed the leak, but I'm not quite sure what the purpose is. The shut-off valve was in the open position, and the system works ok open or closed. Only thought...it might need to be open when blowing lines for winterizing.

Any help out there??

By the way, found a low water drain I never knew about. It was in the rear street-side storage compartment. Valve was in the rear of the compartment, out'a sight unless 'yer feel'n for it.
Guess I didn't read everything in the manual after all.

A bit long?

Looks like it was made a bit too long. Cut the pex and remove the bands. Take the fitting to either a Lowes or Home Depot, if they do not have a replacement, go to a plumbing retailer. While you are there get another piece of pex and rent a bander and a cutter. Use the pex cutter, good 90' cuts are helpful.

Option # 3 is go to Lowes and get some sharkbite or seaquest fittings, some more pex and use snap type fittings.

Opttio 2

Option #2 is get a buddy that is good with plumbing to use seaquest of sharkbite fittings and have him show you how they work, they are great.

Actually the leaking front fitting was cross threaded allowing the seal to pop out, look close and you can see it leaking. Turned the manifold 180 degrees and was able to re-attach, no leaks now.

What is the shut-off and check valve for?

Bob, reading the manual does not always help. I have a drain valve under the 3 valves for the water heater (bypass system). Open it and water drains out of a tube underneath the trailer. Didn't even notice it the first time I winterized but nothing froze. Our model has a compartment next to the water heater on the curbside. Maybe I'll find another mystery valve next week.

Gene,

That's the one....same hose under the trailer.

I did find the above manifold and valve in the manual schematic but no mention of what it's for.
