Starting to plan the fresh water system for our refurb and plan to use PEX. I've been looking for a simple "T" diverter to use with PEX so I can make a simple bypass of the water heater when winterizing, but I haven't been able to locate any PEX fitting like that. Has anyone either found one or come up with a simple in-line PEX based diverter / bypass scheme?
Thanks, I checked and they do have "T"s but not diverter or valved "T"s. I'm looking for something that will allow me to direct the flow in one direction (water heater) or the other (bypass). Had this setup in an SOB and liked it. I think it was PEX on that. Just can't find the fitting now.
Alternatively, thoughts on another, simple bypass setup I could do with all PEX would be good to.
Greg IMO I would use flair it fittings for the whole system. I have used them for several repairs to SOB's and are easy to install. If you ever have a problem they are easy to remove and replace either the fitting or the line. They however are more money. Also but the tool to tughten the nuts. They can be tightened with pliers in a pinch but the tool does a better job and works great in tight spots.
