B.S. "science" - a great way to separate you from an unnecessarily large chunk of your money. Grossly overpriced.

Ozone will eliminate odors, so it's a good short term solution to nasty tobacco or rodent smells, but it doesn't fix the underlying problem. It also makes plastics so brittle they crumble, and it really isn't good for your health.

Normal O2 is stable, Ionized oxygen is O3 and breaks back down quickly. Oxygen bleach uses that same "technology" - and while they advertise that it's safer for colors, use it on your undies and it'll eat the elastic out of the waistband and one day you'll be making a speech in front of a room and... your big girl drawers will become an urban legend.

I do use ozonators for my rental properties to eliminate some odors. I put one in and turn it up full blast for a couple days while no one is there before I start repainting for the new tenants. Ozonators are effective on some odors better than sprays, which simply try to cover up the odors. I would not use one in a closed place, like a trailer, with people living inside. Too high an ozone concentration can be a problem for many people. Ozone levels in Florida and Arizona are higher that in northern parts of the US.

I own one and although some of what Paula says is true there are times when it is useful...

One time is to stop mildew dead in its tracks! I put ours on our boat today for just that reason, it has been muggy and hot here and I know what happens if I ignore the boat in these conditions, we get inundated with mildew!

She is correct that the ozone can damage rubber in high concentrations. I have found evidence of deterioration with exposure to high levels of ozone. Never had any clothing malfunctions as a result though....

As to expensive, some machines are terrible. My first machine was built by Quantum and I spent more money getting it fixed every 2 or 3 years than it was worth. Then I found a more industrial version (made in NH???) that was less to purchase than it was to fix the again broken Quantum. That machine has simply worked and worked. Easy to service too if it ever needs it.

BTW, I never use the machine when people or animals will be occupying the area.
