Ogden Water Filter-"AL" Model

My project is 99% complete now, time for minor details.
I am using the factory Ogden Model "AL" water filter, but debating if I should try to find a great filter for it, or just use it as the feed from a small filter under the counter top?
Anyone using this filter? Anyone know exactly what type of rubber washer seals at the top nut? Is it an O-ring or a flat rubber washer?

Any good filter makers that are still making my "AL" Ogden filter?
Last year I thought I had it solved, so I didn't really worry about it. Not so much luck on a google search just now.

Thanks for any thoughts on this issue!
