Not another hole please!!

DH says we can't use the original fresh water fill spigot that was original to the 1959 Pacer because the modern fittings aren't the same. He says the diameter is different from what is available now to what they had then. He is proposing he put another fill fitting on the roadside front while I want to keep the original as it is on the curbside. The water pump is located on the street side as well.

I have cleaned up the old outside fill hardware and it is in really good shape. I am sure someone has faced this problem before and not had to cut another hole in the trailer to fix it. I would love to hear about how to do that so I can keep him from doing that. Hurry with advice....he's eying his saw.

Put the new water fill hose/tube inside the old one, and run it across the top of the tank to the new fill location.

He says something about it not connecting up but I think he just isn't seeing it. I will try again. Thanks for the advice.

I found it

[QUOTE=HiHoAgRV;1353192]I'm using my iPhone and it's not real useful for lookin up and posting li but I modified the original fill tube on my 63 to work with a modern tank. It's was about modifying the original tube and DH says we are doing something different. He is getting frustrated with me but I don't want him to cut another hole in the skin if we can avoid it. I might need more details on how you did it. Thanks.
Sandy
