We need some advice we have a 1982 Excella 34 which was winterized by a dealer this past october. We are now using the trailer but we have no water at all when drawing from the tank although city water is fine. The trailer was purchase from a dealer and everything should be in working order we are wondering if we could be overlooking a valve. any advice would be nice

Do you hear the pump? Check the breaker if not.

The dealer may have disconnected the pump on the filter side so that it is gulping air. It may have been temporarily disconnected to clear the pump of water and then either not reconnected or poorly reconnected. It takes only a small air leak to cause the no pressure situation.

No breakers on 12 volt pump. a fuse is in order. ( I know, symantics) anyway, a noise is very prevelent if pump is running.
And as pointed out, the pump will continue to run until primed and pressurized.
If you have open valve or leak, it will not stop running.
A good way to test plumbing integrity. If any breach, pump will not stop.

I cant help but think that the pump water pipes are hooked up though. If your city water is working, the city water will pass through the same plumbing and possibly leak out of the pipes connected to the pump if it was not properly re-connected.

City water Tees in after the pump. The pump will not pass water in a reverse direction so there would be no leakage if the pump input is not hooked up or not airtight.

I will have to verify but I am almost certain that the City water bypasses the water pump on my units.

I will double check.

That's what I said. City water Tees in after the pump. Pumps are a one-way system and, unless the pump is defective, nothing will leak back through the pump.

Sometimes it does take a long time to prime after the pump has been drained., even if there is no leakage

Sorry, maybe I was using wrong terminology. When I said Bypass I was implying that the water literally went right by the pump through the pump supply piping. not to be confused with "draw" or siphon piping to fresh water tank.
I guess what I am trying to say is that the city and supply line from water pump are in parrallel.
Clear as mud?

If the pump is running and you have no water pressure than the suction hose from the tank is not hooked up or is loose. Also check the filter which is in the suction hose just before the pump, if the filter was not drained the case may have frozen and cracked or the cover which screws off may be loose.

There are a number of check valves in my system to prevent reverse flow of water. One is at the rear of my trailer where city water enters and another is downstream which prevents city water from entering the pump. I'd speculate that the dealer turned a different valve off somewhere or left a drain valve open which may be why water is not coming out like it should. My '77 rear bath is probably different than your trailer but drain valves are in the rear compartment for it.
