Need Service Recommendation - North California

I discovered a crack on the fresh water tank. It's the outlet nipple that is mechanically connected to the pipe leading to the fresh water pump. It was probably stressed in some way that has caused it to start to split right off the polypropylene tank. Its a slow leak, probably been there for awhile. I doubt it will get better by itself. My trailer is barely out of warranty. Figures.

The fix might be to weld the plastic or replace the tank. I do plenty of my own work on the trailer, but I feel this is out of my league.

My options for a service center are:

1. Bay Area Airstream in Fairfield - 150 miles round trip.
2. Toscano RV, Los Banos - 310 miles round trip.
3. Vinnies North Bay Airstream Repair, Santa Rosa - 250 miles round trip.

All three destinations are tough hauls, on busy freeways and roads. I want it done right the first time as I will miss work hauling the trailer around. Also noticed that Vinnie's website is offline so don't know what that means.

Experiences with these places? Recommendations? All is appreciated.

- Kurt

northern ca service

We have 5 Airstreams we rent and frequently have problems we can't fix ourselves. We have been going to Toscano and have received excellent service and workmanship.

We first tried Bay Area and they were so busy they could not help us, and when they did the workmanship was poor and they were slow and did not complete the work when they said they were. In all fairness, I have heard they fired that service manager and several employees and have new people. Have not tried them with their new crew.

Can you get to the broken area? My hubby has often fixed broken plastic water tanks by fiberglassing the broken area. Enough fiberglass and it becomes bullet proof.
