Lines to/from water heater question

I too am replacing all the copper with white hose/double clamps cold and hot water lines with pex. Anybody remember whether the cold water goes to the top or bottom of the water heater?

Cold goes to the bottom, because heat rises.

Thanks. I ripped the old stuff out this morning, by evening I could not remember where cold line went. CRS LOL
