Leaky Freshwater Tank

Help!
Finally got to Florida only to find out my freshwater tank does not hold water.
Need to repair or replace. How difficult a task is this?
98 31' excella 1000. luckily I don't need it right now, but will in the not too distant future.
Thanks for your help.

Is the drain valve closed? It seems too simple, but I would try moving it and see if the leak stops.

Leaky Tank

Hi,
My fresh water tank leaked only when I drove. I had to take it out and replace it. It is about a days work if you have a floor jack.
The tank was crakedf on top from end to end. That is why it leaked only when I over filled it or went around a corner.
The biggest pain was on how to hang the new tank and hook it up. I did what the factory did use duck tape.
Regards russell in sunny Tucson Az.

Definately better than a black tank leak...not as odoriferous but almost as annoying.

It would help if you could tell where it's leaking from...it may be a simple repair, a loose fitting or it might require a new tank completely - depending on the source.

I know you aren't "vintage" yet, but this page of resources is great! Check out Inca Plastics specifically. Although with a '98 I'd bet an Airstream dealer could get you a new tank from the factory...assuming it's the tank that needs to be replaced and not a drain or fitting which they could probably get as well.

When I bought my 92, I also had a fresh water leak. Expecting the worst, I dropped the inspection plate on the driver side, by the drain valve. Luckily, all that was wrong was a split plastic hose between the tank and the drain valve. The valve is a couple of bucks and you can get the hose at Lowes/Home Depot.

Hope your's is as easy as that. I expect mine wasn't properly winterized (completely drained) by the PO.
