Leak after topping off Fresh water tank

I have a leak after filling my fresh water tank -- but only after filling it to full. Could I have a leak at the filling tube?

What is the best way to check? Do I take off the the door at the water fill line to check the fill line?

Thanks,

Its probably where the fill tube attaches to the tank. On mine it is a corrugated looking tube and I'm not certain it can even seal completely to an inlet. Perhaps when brim full it will leak off some water.

I recall seeing the tube enter the tank but I can't remember how. Perhaps I pulled off the panels around the water pump (under curbside closet) and could observe it from that vantage point.

When you locate the tube check it completely for cracks. I had one on a different trailer that acted the way yours does and found a cracked fill tube. They tend to get brittle with time.

We also had a fill tube that started leaking after we did the bleach/water method of disinfecting the fresh water tank. The service department where we took it to get it fixed said the bleach/water mixture problaby caused the fill tube to finally fail. We won't be doing the bleach/water trick anymore. We will just flush it with fresh water on a regular basis. That fill tube looked way too challenging to access ... so we didn't even attempt that repair ... that's why we took it in for service.

Thanks for the replies. I think I can get to the fill tube by removing the backing behind my sink cabinet. I will also take off the fill access door. I am hoping there is not a crack in the fresh water tank because it stays full after filling.

The initial indication was that the tank would seem to never get full -- I do not like to put to much pressure on the tank (i.e. fill the tank fast so the water comes blasing out of the vent line).

Thanks again,

Another source for leaks is the small vent tube. When you overfill your water tank water will come out of this small tube. On my '72, this vent tube wasn't properly clamped off and leaked because of this and only when the tank was full. Just another thing to look at.
