Looking for advice on the 90 degree Kwiklink connector. Will it easily fit on a late model AS?

Been using one for close to 15 years - first on my Casita and then on all 3 Airstreams. Still have the first one I bought. Very handy and makes hookups easy. The little that it sticks out is not objectionable to me.

Thanks for the feedback. I am trying to picture how it fits onto the AS connection that has that black cover? Can you easily remove the OEM cover?

We have been using brass quick connects for all of our water hose connections for the past en years. We do not have the have the 90 degree Kwiklink, but am now thinking about getting one. We leave the male end of the quick connects on the Airstream. We plug them with small marine plugs when not in use. They do stick out a bit, but it has never been a problem. Our camping style is that we don't often spend more than a couple of nights at a single campsite. Therefore we are always hooking up water and taking it down. These plumbing quick connects are a super conveniences.

The Kiwklink should definitely be lower profile. Looks like AS moved the city connection above the waste connection on our FC.

Does the cap on the OEM city connection detach easily since you will no longer need it?

I checked out my city water connection and am not sure what to do with the attached cap if I go to a Kwiklink?

When we added the plumbing quick connect to Lucy's water inlets, we just cut off the OEM plastic caps.

I prefer not to cut it if there is a way to remove it. Not sure how the cap retainer is connected behind the front plate?

I am a newbee and looking at your connections. Blue tubing is fresh water as I see the filter. What is the purple hose for? Husband says you shouldn't need flush connect as there is flush feature on rig? What is the purpose of the purple hose connection?
We are waiting delivery of our new Pendelton and checking out how others are doing things.

The purple hose goes to the Sewer Solution. This is an RV black water drain system that we have been using for the last ten years. There are a number of threads here on Airforums about the Sewer Solution.
The curly hoses are the way to go as far as I am concerned. They are much easier to store and handle than standard hoses. I have both a 25' and a 50'. I buy the type that are certified for drinking water. I have never seen these at an RV store. I buy them on Amazon. They are a bit pricier than regular drinking water hoses, but well worth the extra cost for the extra convenience.

I use brass quick connects at every hose connection. I buy these at Tractor Supply Company. They have the best price on these. Buy only the solid brass quick connects. The aluminum ones are junk.

I also use in-line cut offs on my hoses to make quicker work of plumbing changes.

We change campsites often and find that these plumbing accessories make life a lot easier.

Brian, that is about the fanciest sewage drain hole I have seen. Is that at your house or a campground?

Brian - is there any risk of cross contamination with your hose for the black flush and drinking water sharing a y-splitter? I'm assuming there isn't or you wouldn't have set it up that way - but I don't know how it all stays safe.

Hi Steve. There is a backfkow preventer valve on the Sewer Solution unit. Not to say that it can't fail, but it hasn't yet on any of the three Sewer Solutions that I have had over the years. On my original Sewer Solution, I replaced the plastic backfkow valve that came with the Sewer Solution with a brass one that I bought at a ranch supply store. I believe that I still have it and should probably install it at the Y splitter.

In all of our many nights of Airstream camping, the Sewer Solution has never given us a problem. In our early days when we used a slinky, we had many issues including pin holes that were seeping raw sewage on the campsite, and cleaning the slinky after a black tank dump was always a fun job.

At the time I bought mine I had never even heard of Tractor Supply Company. The brass ones I bought at Home Depot corroded and I got rid of them. Brass is made of copper and zinc, and the spring-loaded ball bearings that hold the male and female ends together are steel, so when the quick disconnects got wet, galvanic action between the zinc and steel caused the zinc in the brass to oxidize. So the brass quick-connects at Home Depot are junk, too. Maybe the ones you bought at TSC are all-brass, no steel parts, so you don't have that problem.

I finally went with plastic quick-connects that work just fine as long as I avoid using them in below-freezing conditions where they would become too brittle. But since I don't use a municipal water hookup in below-freezing temperatures anyway, that's a moot point.
