Is there a back flow valve on my water pump?

Hey folks well I lost the pictures of how the plumbing configures from the back plumbing to the front . I know I can figure it out but I have one question when hooking up city water what prevents water from going through the pump into the fresh water tank is there a back flow valve in the pump OR whould there be a shut off valve installed to prevent it? I have a new shurflow 4.0 gm pump .

There should be a separate "check valve" out side of the pump.

At least that's how the trailer was originally equipped.

One check valve keeps city water pressure off the pump. and another check valve keeps the pump pressure from escaping thru the city water hose connection.

Check valves sometimes, fail and must be replaced.

Some pumps have a check valve, some do not.

This is the original check valve that Airstream used in your trailer.

Hmm, not much to it, I wouldn't have taken that for a valve of any sort at a casual glance.

Thanks, Andy
