Ours leaked right from the gitgo, spent the first two seasons trying to trace it. Then I realized it was really only leaking when the tank was full.
It did continue to drip 'cuz the water pooled above the inspection panel.
Turned out it was the lower clamp on the fill neck vent tube.
I found the clamp hidden between the inner & outer skin, tightened and forgot about it, PITA to replace.
It only drips until the level drops below the clamp.🥴

Our leak turned out to be a bit more serious and required a new tank installation. Turns out the drain line leading to the exterior had cracked from too much flexing and bumps. Also where one of the pex lines attaches had actually cracked the connection fitting to the tank. WE opted for a new tank rather than a re-glue, etc. When replacing the tank, the repairman added loops to the pex lines for strain relief.


California has a lot going for it, but highways are banana republic quality, particularly the far right hand lanes. I think the bumps and jarring finally did the connections in.
