Question Fresh water tank leak

Hello from a new member in Idaho. My trailer is a 1994 21' Sovereign with a 55 gallon plastic fresh water tank. When the tank is completly filled, some water(maybe a gallon or so?) leaks out from the underside of the metal pan so I "assume" the leak is in the upper portion of the tank. I can remove the tank and my question is how do I repair the plastic? Can it be "welded" or patched in some way? Considering the trouble involved to R&R the tank, should I consider a replacement? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Before going the R&R route try to see if one of the hoses is loose. There should be 3 hoses that connect to the tank. A fill line, a vent line, and the output to the pump. The pump output is normally on the bottom. The vent and fill on the top. This means you should in theory be able to get to them from the top. I would bet it is as simple as a loose hose clamp.

Smile WATER leaks

If you have a leak when the tank is nearly full it may be caused by a small crack in the flex connection in the filler tube assy. Before you go all hog wild looking elsewhere check this out. It may save you some time and money.

Fresh water tank leak

If it does turn out to be the tank ,I had good luck with a "Universal Plastic Tank Repair Kit" by SYON, P/N 90214, SR-214. I think that a couple of companys market this kit, as the Brand names were different, but numbers were the same. $ 12- 13.00 at local RV store. Says you can patch in place(if you can get to the leak). Just don't do what I did ,stood tank on end, filled with water, figured if it would hold with that weight of water, I would be good to go, went in house , wind came up ,heard a loud "Woomph" , took 2 more kits to seal the seam. Good luck, Toby
