Found this while tending to water leak #2

This was found down around my Grey water dump valve while searching for the piece of copper that I cut out which fell down around the same valve. Any idea what is might be or where it goes? The blue end is threaded on the inside and the orange piece will retract slightly.

That would be one half of garden hose quick disconnect that someone drop and never retreived.
