I've finally gotten around to ordering a fresh water tank for our 65
caravel. Up till now we've been hooking up to the water valve at camp sites and I'm excited about having working plumbing when we stop for lunch on the road. The tank is Polyethylene and comes threaded for 1/2 inch pipe fittings for the outlets. So my initial thought was to screw in bronze Shark-bite fittings and push in the pump and vent tubes as I plumb it up. Not having a FW Tank before, I have nothing to go by here. Is this just a matter of Teflon tape and not tightening the metal fittings up to the point where I damage the tank? Is there another way?
I just don't want this to leak.
Thanks,
Bill
