external water connection?

This white plastic connection labeled "water" is on the outside of our '71 Safari on the street side of the trailer approximately behind the sink. Not sure what it is. Any ideas? I also need to replace it as the tab is broken.

That's a water fill port for your onboard fresh water tank. Most any RV dealer can sell you a new one.

Thanks Terry. Would my trailer have multiple fill ports? There's a threaded inlet under the rear curb side near the rear bumper that the PO said was the fresh water inlet ot connect to a hose for city water.

Thanks for your help!

Hi David, That would be correct. The large one in the picture pulls out and you fill the fresh water tank from there with a hose. If you connect a hose to the other one, that will supply the water to the plumbing system provided the pump is off. If the pump is also on you may get a mixture from both sources.
Regards,
Ken

The water fill you need - as Terry said - most RV dealers carry these:

RV Surplus
