Gosh, I just hook it up and let 'er rip!

Maybe 100-120 psi? (I think that's the limit of my AC)

If I don't hear any leaks, I figure I'm okay. (Or it's a really big leak)

I wouldn't recommend testing above 60 - 65 PSI; your in-line pressure reducing valve is likely set at 40 PSI (+/-) and going more than 50% over invites new problems (IMHO).

I've used Pex to splice copper lines with no sweat (pun intended). It is clean, quick and easy, though not necessarily cheap, but it keeps us ten-thumbers from catching the 'Stream on fire.

ten thumbs

Mick I had a good laugh about "ten thumbs". I am a charter member of that group and have recentley joined the "loose the tools before the job is done" group. Flying an airplane manufactured in '42 made me suspicious of parts or systems that might be when I'm home I renew but when traveling I'll repair. Cheers Tom
