Cold shower? YIKES!

Camping in St. Augustine--go to take a shower. Water never gets hot--maybe just a smidge warmer. Thought it was the water heater but both sinks had steaming hot water. The shower had full pressure on cold setting but reduced pressure on the hot side. Any ideas? Thanks for your help!

Your valve in the shower is not allowing the hot water to come through - most likely plugged...

That assuming your shower valve is a "one handle" type...

Same thing happened in a four year old townhouse in California (rough water out here) - the plumber replaced an internal valve for $50.00 bucks and all is good once more....

That's my guess...

Trust me - I was hoping it was the valve (full force water when on cold - a smaller stream when on full hot) and had visions of them ripping my walls out...

Never heard of this happening before but I guess there is a first time for everything!

Enjoy St. Augustine - used to stop off there on flights from MD to the Keys or Daytona Bike Week.

It's the valve.

Hi, my shower did the same thing. [a few years ago] I took the shower valve out and all a part. Did not see anything wrong with it. I made sure everything was clear and clean, still didn't work. Finally I bought a new replacement cartridge and we have been happy ever since.

If it's a Moen product, that valve is guaranteed for life ! No Kidding !

Send them an e-mail and they will send you a valve and the little tool to replace it.... it's just that easy.

I know, I know..... I couldn't believe it myself !
