city water valve

i have a 73 Argosy. Has anyone moved the water valve (mine is under the trailer street side, behind the tires) to the side of the vehicle? It would seem easy on the surface, but would like advice from someone who has made the switch.

Type of pipe? Old copper??? If yes....then cut the inlet tubing
about 4" above the floorline......use a flaring tool and go about
your re-route using flare-fittings....think about using as few fittings
as possible....and don't crimp the pipe when making your bends.
Stablize your pipes so they do not move when traveling.

One more...if you have a leak and the water
inlet is on the side of the trailer....water will travel
into the trailer and cause much damage...having the
water inlet and fittings below the floor level will
avoid a lot of problems by the use of gravity....re-route
if you must....if not leave it where it is now.

city water valve

Greetings nynick52!

If I am reading your inquiry correctly, you have an Argosy 24' trailer, and its city water inlet is on the street-side a short distance behind the rear axle. Your inlet has likely already been relocated as the factory located the city water inlet on the street-side rear bumper support frame extension.

Kevin,

On the bumper itself, or on the under pan? mine is about two feet forward of the bumper and it doesn't look like there has been any patching.

The city water inlet position was on the frame extension about 4-inches before the bumper. It is possible that the inlet on your coach may have been modified by placing the inlet on the pipe that was originally the port where water would be expelled if the pressure was too great for the system (i.e. the exhaust for the pressure regulator).
