Question City Water Regulator

The manuel that came with my 87 Excella 32' indicates that there is a pressure regulator in the fresh water system. Does any one have any idea where this might be located. I have looked at the line where it enter the trailer and in the compartment just above it, under the ref. and at fresh water tank pump and I find no regulator. I use a reg at the city water hookup for safety reasons.

It seems to be in slightly diffrent places on diffrent years but, it should be in the first 2-3 feet of pressure line coming in from the city water connection. It looks like 2 brass bells mounted bottom to bottom, with a hex bolt sticking out of the top. It is the pressure regulator and the check valve to keep your water system pressurized when on the pump. There should also be a presser pop off valve near it with a hose that runs thru the floor. The pressure vlave screws into a T fitting and is round, about the size of a quarter. It is brass as well.

As to using a pressure regulator at the campground faucet, it is a good idea. Even with the regulator in the unit, you could burst a water hose and have it beat your trailer up if the pressure was high enough.

Thanks for the reply about the reg. location. I have traced the line part of the way. I forgot to look under the bed in the water heater area. I am familar with that type of water reg. I use one of the cheap camping store type at the city water hook up. I am changing it to a good quality reg. like you mentioned and set it at 45 lbs. for hose and other safety reasons. Thank for the help.
