Question City Water inlet

Now that I have at least figured out how to tackle the plumbing problems I have found, new faucet, getting a new water pump, my question is this:

On our '66 Safari there is a hose inlet for city water. What I expect to see, but don't is a shut off valve for this hose inlet. It seems to me that without that that water would just run out of it when detached and running the pump. We have the owners manual, but it kind of glosses over these activities and never says "shut off the city water inlet valve." Am I wrong, or is there a missing valve?

John

John , There is a checkvalve right near the regulator to prevent this from happening. Tom

Ah-ha. I have seen a valve on the city water inlet pipe, just before it ties into the water lines. Is this it? Look at pic below....

Concerning check valves and regulators: Obviously A is one of them, which is it? And is B one of these?

Thanks in helping me sort this out.

John

Looks a bit like the setup in my Caravel. In mine 'B' is the checkvalve. Then it goes into a pressure control device.

My setup looks a little different from yours but as Stephanie stated I would guess B would most likely be the check valve.

The "A" valve, is a safety pop off valve.
