City water hookup(s)?

Page 21 of the manual says the city water hookup is at the hosereel location. Page 47 referres to the hosereel as the "water supply inlet" and that the city water hookup is the 5/8" hose fitting at the bumper streetside. can anyone clarify?

Some units actually came with a optional retractable water hose. Yours did not. Neither of my have one either.

City water hookups(s)?

Mine has both the hose reel and the 5/8" hose fitting at street side rear. My questions is why do I have two? I intended to replumb that area and would like to delete one. Don't want to do that until I know the purpose of having two. Did AS simply not remove the 5/8" when they equip with the hose reel? If so I should be able to delete one.

I'm not familiar with the reel; as you know, current models don't use one. If I were to delete one or the other, I would toss the reel. The bumper attachment has proven to work well without any maintenance issues that a reel would present.

Thanks Fyrzowt, what is your city power hookup arrangement? Is it terminited at the trailer end or does the cord disconnect from the trailer (and the source). My city power is on a reel, the same reel assembly as the hose reel. If I don't use the hose reel I'd like to remove it which means removing the power reel too. I'd like my power hookup to be consistant with AS best practice.

I have a short (25'?) cord that is hardwired in at the bumper tray. I carry a spare cord for longer stretches.
All of the ('72, '98, '02) A/S's I've owned have had this arrangement.
