City water hookup

I just brought my first airstream home. It is a 1975 sovereign side bath.

The PO cut the city water line in the bedroom and removed everything rear of that. Does anyone have a photo of the hookup? Where does the regulator go?

The regulator with some plumbing attached laying in the closet but I can't tell much from that.

My guess is that the regulator and the rest of the old plumbing that was removed froze. I say there is a good chance that the regulator broke.

Fwiw, I am not running a regulator on either my 72 or 75, but I switched all of the piping to PEX.

I wish I could help with the stock configuration , but honestly I didn't pay it much mind as I was cutting it up and ripping it out.

I have a 72 I am working on and will post pics of the plumbing tomorrow. I am changing mine from copper to pex. I will use an inline regulated on my hose.

If the stuff in the back is gone, a good bit of what is involved for a PEX conversion is going to be required already.

I can't speak for the side bath, but when I replaced the plumbing in my rear bath 75, the bath sink, shower, and kitchen sink were not that hard to re plumb in PEX.

Use an external regulator. You will be glad you did.
I replaced all of the plumbing in our Argosy 5 years ago. Used PEX. Got rid of the internal regulator and all of the drain valves.
Have had no regrets. System functions just fine with an external regulator.

Got rid of all the drain valves? So how do you winterize?

Blow out the lines with compressed air. Then pump in RV antifreeze until all faucets and toilet show the pink stuff.
Takes about 1/2 hour and two gallons of anti freeze.
I have a bypass system for the water heater. I just drain it.
Never understood why there are drains. What if they are not the low spot? What if you can't store the coach on level ground?
Just another device to have problems with as far as I am concerned.
I live where it gets down to -40F in the winter. Haven't had any problems in 5+ years.
