Argosy Water Tank Options??

My Argosy has the front long water tank. Are there any options out there to move it??

Like two side tanks? I would love to free up that end for flooring and a leather love seat.

Another member is starting to look at this idea: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f227...t-24671-6.html

This thread documents a member redesigning the water & waste tanks -- and much, much more: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f227...ase-18448.html

This project would lead to the desirable replacement of the copper water pipe with PEX. It surely will involve dropping the belly pan and working on tanks from underneath.

Thanks for your reply. I was hoping for tanks that would fit the contour of the trailers front sides...... Like where the arms of the love seat would be at each side. Like 16 gallons per side and each tank connected to each other.

So far all I can find are square or rectangular tanks

Great minds...

Hey Sundance, how funny I should stumble on your post just now. We just returned last night from a long road trip to pick up our new-to-us 77 Argosy Minuet, and I was laying in bed this morning thinking "Hey! I wonder why we couldn't move that fresh water tank over to the side storage area, that would make the dinette SOOO much more comfortable! What a great idea!"

Nothing is original. Of course I am sure there are issues with moving it, but having re-done all our Overlander plumbing with Pex already I am sure we could make it work. I was thinking on using the larger side storage area under the gaucho instead as the storage area under the dinette is very small. I wouldn't want to travel with a full tank of water though as all that extra weight would be over on one side. Plus I haven't figured out the water fill access yet...

Anyway, I'll check the other threads that were mentioned but you are welcome to PM me with any brilliant ideas you may come up with, and I'll do the same :-) What model Argosy do you have? I'll be trolling the Argosy sub-forums soon for info, so maybe I'll run into you over there...

Sounds great Tamara...... Mine is a 1973 26' Argosy.

I am looking to the twin tank idea to continue to use the water fill and
to balance the weight as traveling with water while boondocking is a
a must.

Good luck with your new baby.
