Hello kids. Hey, I just moved my trailer from one park to another, hooked up to city water and VOILA! nothing, nada, zip. Okay, I do get an initial stream of water and then it peters out - both sinks (bath and kitchen). I am currently using water from the holding tank via the pump so I know the faucets aren't plugged up.

During the move, could something have lodged in the pipe blocking access? This is the first time I've had this problem. Like I say, all faucets work fine when using the pump. And I do know that the water pressure is okay.

Any ideas?

Look for a valve between city water inlet and the rest of the system that will keep the fresh water pump from pushing water out the city inlet when you are using the coach water pump. Perhaps such a valve is stuck in the closed position not allowing city water to enter the system. Mine is part of the inlet where the city water hose connects, and is pushed open by the city water coming in, but they may all not be like that, don't know for sure.

Also look for a kink in your hose.

hi- perhaps there is a valve that needs to be turned, to allow city water into the system that you have had set up to allow tank water in. You wouldn't want pressurized city water going into your water pump, backwards, which is why there is an arrangement of valves to accomodate these 2 different sources of water. Read your manual, look around.

i'll look for the valve but i've never had to mess with it before. the ride over to my new site was fairly smooth so i can't imagine that a valve got knocked in or out of place.

I would guess the pressure reducing valve went out to lunch and didn`t come back,it acts like enough water comes thru to build up pressue,but as soon as you turn on faucet ther goes the pressure. Dave

Just a thought here. Once when I was in a park they had installed new standpipes and faucets. Some dirt/sand had gotten down in the pipes when they were apart. That debris got into the pressure regulator and screens on my hose. While I had good pressure when the water was off in the trailer, as soon as I turned on the water inside the pressure dropped off to a trickle. It took my a while to figure it out but, my screen and regulator on the hose were clogged with debris. I cleaned them out and all was well. I checked my filter in the trailer and it was clean. Nothing made it inside.

When i took possession of my trailer the pressure regulator valve which is directly behind the hose hook up was completely clogged .Maybe during the move some corrosion in this valve has loosened up and plugged everything up

No, the pressure regulator is beyond the check valve, and the regulator is probably what went South.

awesome information. i will definitely check the pressure regulator valve. i did notice some grit coming out of the faucet...

i'll let you know what i find out.

My owner manual says that the water pressure regulator is "in the aft roadside wardrobe". There is no regulator...nothing even resembling a regulator...in the wardrobe. Do I need to remove the floor of the wardrobe to get to it? Anyone? Any Land Yacht owners out there who can help?

Open the door under the bathroom sink and look to the right and down. It should be there somewhere. Mine was removed when the trailer was converted to PEX. I use a regulator attached to the hose when I am attached to city water (very rare).

You don`t say what model you have,on my overlanders,open back hatch,and it it tucked up in corner on street side,just above the water inlet.Hope you find it.dave

Dave, I have a Land Yacht Tradewind and the regulator's not in the back hatch. I will find the darn thing if it's the last thing I do. But first, I'll wait till the temp drops below 99 before I do any manual labor.

my water pressure problem sorted itself out. In thinking about it, I had moved from Mexico (no water pressure) to The Shady Dell (lots of water pressure) to this here spot and I think that pressure valve got confused. So I used the holding tank and pump for a few weeks...once in a while I would switch to city water and the pressure would build..then I'd go back to the tank until finally the pressure is now about up to normal.

Anyway, I thought I'd post an update. My trailer never ceases to amaze me.

BTW, the other night, the electricity went out in my neighborhood. I was the only person with lights and a running fridge. Airstream life is grand.
