Air pump for water tank

I have a 1963 globe trotter that uses a 12 volt air pump that puts pressure in the water tank,The company ( penn controls)that made this one is no longer around.Any one know of a company that makes them now.Thanks

I replaced the one on our 63 Safari with a 12v air compressor from JC Whitney, used the pressure limit switch from the old unit. Check Amazon also.

I converted to a standard water pump.. No worries about keeping the tank cap pressure tight etc.
The water pumps and parts are readily available if repairs are needed also .
The only draw back is pump noise which bothers some folks

If you convert to a pump. You will need to vent the tank. Otherwise you will pull a vacuum on the tank and won't get any water.

I hope these things have a pop off valve or some sort of regulator in case the pressure switch does not turn the pump off.

That is true.. Our original setup had a piece of pipe with a cap that stuck out several inches from the side of the trailer. I eliminated that and installed a standard water fill that was flush with the side of the trailer. Looks much better.

We used the standard Shurflo 2088 series water pump which has been in service now for 8 years with no problems

I converted my '63 to a demand system. I still have the old pump that I took out if anyone is interested in it.
