Advice on vent pipes

I have 3 vent pipes on my 65 AMB.
I am to the point where I starting to take off the inner panels.

Up top I have no vent stack covers, just black pipe sticking out.
There were previous leaks on 2 of these.

Should just I cut back leaving about a foot of pipe and slide panels over?
Idea is to tie into those stubs when I redo the plumbing. If I pull them out will I just have a 3 1 1/2 in.open holes in the roof?

You could update the exterior look by adding the vent pipe covers that Airstream has now used for almost 40 years.

You can cut them and leave them hang if you can't get them back out of the ceiling. Make sure you give yourself room to work. You can put them back together with something like this Flexible Coupling, 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 In, PVC - Flexible Fittings - Fittings - Plumbing : Grainger Industrial Supply. that you can find at any hardware store. You can also use the glue kind.

Hope this helps.

Andy,
I saw the Inland polished covers and will probably want to use those. They look great.
I assume 65 was just the black pipe sticking out.Since I do not have a view yet,how are these sealed for leaks?

Did you see this post? http://www.airforums.com/forums/f455...cap-60573.html.

Vulkum (Tempro) will work to around the pipes. The Airstream should have covers over the pipes. What Andy said...
