Accumulator Tank Installed

I just added a ShurFlow Accumulator Tank to my 2018 25fb. The tank is mounted on the wall in the cabinet under the closet near the water pump. It will work in any orientation, but mounting it vertically allows the water to be drained completely, in case it needs to be re-pressurized in the future. SharkBite fittings made installation easier in that tight spot.

The results - the system can supply a very low stream of water for 30 seconds before the pump has to start again. It is also much more quiet, although I am not sure why.

Probably quieter because your pipes are not banging around as much. The tank also reduces surges if mounted close to the pump.

I'm a fan of the accumulator tank. My pump claims not to need one, but it sure does minimize vibrations and surges from the pump. I have the flexible hose kit designed to dampen vibrations on my pump, so installing the tank was a simple matter of removing the threaded plastic nipple between my outlet hose and plumbing, and replacing it with the pump instead. Only tool needed was a screwdriver to secure the pump to the floor.

Nice job! Neat and square, the OCD side of me likes that. Adding an accumulator tank is on my to-do list. Along with...

SharkBites are a great system albeit a bit expensive.

Always a good addition IMO, for which there are many recent threads/posts:

Never leaked, but I did need to recharge it a few times. Last time after the deep freeze in Texas.

When you mention recharge. Are you saying it wasn't pre-filled and ready for low flow use? If so, I don't see that being a big issue. My only issue is the horrible access to my water pump. I could barely get my arm in there to adjust the pump or turn the winterization valve. I would have full access if I could pop off the panel behind my Nespresso machine. Does anyone know if the panel is installed using the cabinet latches? Am I missing something?

It felt like a game of twister accessing the pump in my 25 FB, I would take that any day of the week over this!
