'92 Excella freshwater tank leak

We're new to a '92 Excella 1000 after many years with a '72 Overlander, so I guess we're newbs all over again <sigh>. My question is, how do you get to the area around the freshwater tank where the vent attaches? Water pours out from below when the freshwater tank is full or just overfilled. No problem at even 3/4 full. We've read the threads on this issue and want to check whether the vent has become detached and needs to be reattached. My husband can't for the life of him find where the vent tube hooks into the tank. Where might we look for this connection? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
