60s Water Inlet
I'm currently removing anything mounted on the trailer and resealing it and putting it back on before the rains come.
I've have taken apart the water inlet and find it very interesting. Obviously the flange is mounted with the three screws, but the pipe leading into the trailer just flops around in the flange.
I don't see how it's supposed to be secured. On the inside there was one lonely strap holding the pipe to the wall, but nothing else.
This thing twists around through normal use, so there must be a strong mounting system for it.
How is it supposed to be?
I don't intend to use it but I'd rather leave it instead of another patch job. But not at the expense of a easy leak point.

hello Safari Tim, the water inlet pipe normally is threaded into the aluminum
or galvanized (whichever it is) tank ,the tank mounted on the curved brackets on the floor secured there with bands .so the pipe is rigid with the tank ,then the 3 screws of course .I would just cut the pipe going into the trailer short ,say enough to go inside the trailer then cut ,thats it ,but it needs a strap to hold it in place as you already know .so then to have the dummy water fill you just figure a way to secure the pipe so it appears normal
and cant move .

Oh Tim , the water outlet points towards the ground in the stock or normal
position ,just like a regular faucet spigot.

Ah, that makes sense now. Of course my tank was missing so I had no idea.
I already sealed it back up with the faucet facing up
Oh, well I always wanted to be different!
So originaly to fill the void as the pipe entered the trailer, was it just filled with vulkem? That's what I did. It seems to me like the whole assembly can move easily though even being strapped to the wall on the inside.
I'll have to revisit it and decide a better mounting method when tankless....

yeah ,just fill it with vulkem . The pipe can't move period when it threads in the tank in any way ,its all very rigid ,doesn't have an inside strap on my trdwnd ,never did ,cannot move it .The upside down parts ok .no one will try to put a hose on it that way .

Hey Tim, you're lucky. Mine is still in my tank and I can't get it out. Because of the angle, I can't take my tank out. I think I may have to go nuclear (anyone have Lil' Kim's number?). A big pipe wrench is having little effect.

Thats right Dave. I hadn't thought about it that way. I wouldn't have used it anyway after hearing how they look inside.
So I'm good to go.
