2 Tradewind tanks?

I have 2 water tanks. I believe a PO installed an additional tank under the curb side dinette goucho. I believe this because the fill neck is an ugly after market one. The tanks are connected with a copper pipe along the floor against the wall under the front window. There is no valve so the tanks therefore both maintain the same level of water. Both tanks are 42" X 16" X 6". Is that 30 gals each? That is a heck of a lot of water! Obviously I will not travel with them full or even half full. Can someone confirm that indeed that my 2nd tank is not "factory?" Is there a water level indicator available? I am sure someone has a clever gadget to accomplish this.
Thanks, Neil.

Several web sites have calculators for just this thing. The are mainly for fish tanks, but water is water. The results of your numbers =

You provided measurements in inches:
Width: 42" (106.68cm)
Height: 16" (40.64cm)
Depth: 6" (15.24cm)
Your tank's volume is approximately 4032 cubic inches or 17.45 U.S. gallons, which is approximately 67.9 liters.

Both tanks full would be just under 35 gallons or around 290 lbs.
