Zip Dee retrofit

Does anyone know the difference in the zip dee awnings of the pre-'69 era and the '69 -thru- 70's eras?

I'm trying to determine what I'll have to modify (if anything) to fit a mid-70's AS zip dee to a '64 AS

the zip dee co. only knew that they listed them as different models.

thanks.

Wow, I'm surprised Zip Dee couldn't answer that question. I'd try talking to someone else.

There was an awning man at the Travelers Rest Airstream Park in Dade City, Florida who previously worked for the Zip Dee Co. His name was Bill Phoenix. His home was in Orlando. Don't know if he is still alive or not, but he dates back pretty far and probably could answer your question. I don't think Bill is working on awnings at Travelers Rest any more but someone there may have his phone number. Travelers Rest advertises every month in the Blue Baret where you can get their phone number. Good luck. Charlie E. WBCCI 1128

The awning is the same for both years, but the length may be different.

However, the arms are completely different. You can buy just an arm set if you wish.

are the arms from the newer (69-??) coaches longer or ???

the bends/angles appear to be similar but the awnings look like they might be mounted higher to get them up above the vista views...

The shell shapes are different and the awning rails are in different places as well.
