Zip-Dee base hinge

My base hinges appear to have a bend in them. Is this normal? Both of them have a identical bend.

Doesn't look like a stock ZipDee base to me. Looks like someone fabricated one as a replacement.

. . . and not capable of the weight it is carrying, because it is bending, maybe close to breaking point.

The arm looks odd to me too. Do you have any more pictures?

Here are my legs.

We are the 4th owners of this 1999 trailer. There are a number of repairs I have been discovering since bringing it home. A few disappointing, but nothing terrible.

Not like any Zipdee I have ever seen, but I don't recognize it either. The clincher would be a photo of the arm head and bracket where the arm connects to the roller and secures to the trailer shell.

Thumbs up

That looks nothing like any ZD that I've ever seen either.
But the brackets you've ordered will most likely work fine.

I had to re-position our lower brackets, (wasn't retracting straight).

Used stainless bolts instead of the phillips head, seal the threads and bracket well.

I think I see the remains of an A&E logo on the arm. But not sure enough to bet more than a buck on it.

It has been my personal experience, and I think other streamers will agree, Zipdee is user friendly. Other awning manufacturers like Carefree less so. EZ Awn has been out of business for years, I beleive. Carefree will refer you to a dealer, most of whom don't want to be bothered with parts for old awnings, even if they are available, which often they are not. The Zipdee design has not changed for years and you can get parts for older awnings. Which is why I switched.

It is not a Zip Dee awning, looks like an old A&E to me.
