Question Zip Dee Awning Retrofit to 69 Globetrotter

After extensive research and searching for parts I have all the proper parts to retrofit a Zip Dee window awning to my 69 Globetrotter. Has anyone cut down a roller tube to shorten it? If so how do you calculate the length of the roller tube between the ribs so it will be the correct length for the arms???

Example: My rear window rib from left to right is 44 & 7/8" on center of rivets. My curbside length is 93 & 1/4" from center of rivets.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Call zip dee And ask them what size awning you need for your year & calculate from there. Not sure they would tell you how to cut the tube, but if you inquire about buying awnings, they will tell you what size you need.
