Zip-Dee Awning Repairs

I have one awning with the cloth pull strip in poor shape and another that has ripped off entirely. I would like all of them reinforced and the one replaced. I also have a few gromets that have come out. Is there anyone that does this sort of thing?

p.s. These are on a 17 year old 345 motoerhome.

Fred. You can call Zip Dee at 800-3382378 and order new straps. As far as the grommets are concerned you probably can find a "grommet kit" at Home Depot, and do those repairs yourself. Please have your awning color available when you call Zip Dee. Andy

Exclamation Awning (Grommet) Repair

If you are going to replace Grommets on your awnings, Be sure to get Brass or Stainless Grommets. Do not use iron ones as they rust quickly. Aluminum ones will corrode and damage the materials. I would prefer Bronze but they would have to be specially made.
When repairing the loops on awning pull straps, get some webbing starps and sew in carefully in the loop so as not to wear the canvas strapping out.

Be proud of the things you can fix if it looks better than professionally done. It only takes a little more effort.

Hi, N7LBW (sounds like an airplane), you thought you'd sneak right in here with your first post, didn't you?

Well, welcome to the forums. Look at you - brand spanking new here and you're already helping people. Or have you been LURKING? Hmm... that avatar looks PLANNED.
