Zip Dee awning or..???

Hi everyone,
I'm awaiting shipment on a vintage airstream from Seattle to Melbourne, Australia and wanted to have an awning shipped with the unit to save costs. The quote from Zipdee (14ft awning with all hardware etc) was $2,200 US (even more once converted to AUD!) and I'm wondering if there is another alternative brand that is suitable? I've heard of Carefree and A&E, just don't have much knowledge on them. Any input is appreciated.
Thanks

CareFree no longer makes hardware for Airstream trailers, so you won't be able to use them. A&E/Dometic does, depending on year. What year vintage Airstream are you getting? If it's pre-1969, Zip-Dee will be the only "permanent" awning you can use. You can get the cabana style awnings, where you slide the fabric in the awning rail, and hold it up with poles and ropes.

Thank you! It's a 1960 Tradewind. I may have to get the pole and rope awning till I can justify the cost :-/
