Just the fabric, or the whole awning?

All you needed to know about vintage awnings http://www.airforums.com/forum...ghlight=awning

ZipDee makes the ones that are permanently attached and fit the trailer. I think Carefree of Colorado does the same. Or you can have one made. Lots of info in the attached thread link.

Repair

If it is ripped along the retaining rail, it would be very easy to repair and you would only sacrifice about two or three inches of awning length.

Much cheaper than replacing with new material.

Follow directions for removing the tube from AS and then either remove material from tube or with the assistance of another person, sew it while still on the tube.

I have done this repair with both methods.

Speaking of awnings, I can't get the one on my 87 Excella open. I haven't had it opened for more than a year. When I tried to open it yesterday, it came out about 4" and then stopped. I wiggled the ZLock a few times, and tapped it with a hammer, thinking it might be stuck, but still nothing happened. Does anyone know what I'm going to have to do to fix this?

Z lock is froze

You will have to allow the awning to roll back to the closed position and drill out the rivets that hold the z lock in.

You can try to lube and correct but it will probably need replacing , costs around 58 dollars.
Guess How I know this?
