I pulled out of the barn and caught the back arm of the Zip Dee.I broke the casting piece that says Zip Dee on it.The tube and arms are ok and still has the horizontal screw attached to the tube.
I removed the arms front and back. The only thing remaining is the Casting head on the front. The lever is in the up position.I want to remove the awning from the trailer to polish and need to know if the tension at this point was released when I hit the arm in the barn.
How do I slide it off the track, does the aluminum cover go with it intact as a unit?

Thanks Robin,
I have 5 of my son's friends to help me get it off today so I won't be able to contact Zip Dee.The Zip Dee info was helpful, but more about removing the fabric and taking a couple of slats off.I am hoping I can just remove the set screws and slide the slats and all off in a unit.
Just wondering if anyone had done it this way.Steve
FYI With tension released the Zip Dee slides intact off the rail with the removal of 2 set screws and of course 2 pick ups parked side by side and 5 18 year olds helping to keep level while removing.Weight is about 90-100lbs.
