Taking a '74 Awning and putting it on a '79 Airstream

My friends just had to total their Airstream due to storm damage but the awning was not damaged. They have a 1974 31 foot Airstream and I have a 1979 31 foot Airstream and my awnings are gone. How easy is it to take their awning and put it on mine?

Remove their awning, and install it on yours. It will probably take you an hour or two.
You can measure where all the holes are in their trailer, and drill the mounting holes in the same spot in yours.

On a difficulty scale of 5 rivets I would rate this as a 2.5 rivets job. Not inherently difficult. You'll need to enlist some help of a friend to assist with taking the awning off the donor rig, and a third set is really helpful with installing the roll/fabric onto yours. The springs can be dangerous if not handled properly and with great respect.
